Embracing the New

I am so excited to share my blog’s updated format with the world, or at least people who are part of my world and actually read it. 🙂

It is getting closer to how I had always envisioned it and new resources are coming within the next few months.

I haven’t posted in a while, not for lack of things ruminating in my mind or heart, but because I didn’t feel released to share any of it. I’m learning to be obedient and sensitive to Holy Spirit with what I share and when.

I do want to briefly share how I have been challenged from our pastor’s Resurrection Sunday sermon.

He took us through John 11 with the death of Lazarus and focused on Martha’s response in verse 21 when Jesus finally came to their home.

Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”

It’s funny because Jesus responds, “Your brother will rise again” and Martha is quick to confess her belief in the resurrection of the last days (v.24).

But Jesus boldly declares, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believe in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?

As most of you know, Jesus goes on to raise Lazarus from the dead.

The challenge is do I really believe this for now, or have I like Martha, pushed it off to sometime in the last days.

I want to expect more NOW since Jesus is resurrected and alive NOW.

I don’t want to error expecting less than all Jesus paid for and I choose to trust Him with the mystery of His ways and timing.

I need to be obedient and take Jesus at His word that He is the resurrection and the life and see what dead things He will bring back to life when His children declare the Word of God over people and situations (ie. relationships, marriages, businesses, hearts, dreams, lives, minds, finances, countries, governments… etc.)

Do YOU believe this?

Do you believe this?
