My absence from blogging over the past few months was necessary to process everything happening worldwide since May. I needed to stay focused on Jesus through prayerful journaling and reflection.
I don’t know about you, but I have realized that my previous understanding of the Lordship of Jesus Christ was shallow. These last few months have challenged me on many levels regarding my relationship with God the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.
I thought I had surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus, but I am just beginning to step into this way of living with deeper understanding.
Until now, it has been all about me and what I wanted and thought was best, yet I felt I was truly living for Him. Careful reflection and gentle correction have invited me to do more.
The more is to follow in the example set by Jesus Himself, in submitting to the will of the Father in every situation. I want to live my life as a love offering full of gratitude for all the Lord has done and continues to do in my life.
There is such joy in living for His honor and pleasure, even during the most challenging days, because He is with Me, and His Presence and love are enough. Sure, I still get discouraged and have hard days.
However, it takes the simplest acknowledgment that I am seen and understood by Him to melt my heart and soothe my angst. His Presence breathes life into me and once again fills me with hope.
I get to say ‘yes’ to Him and His will daily and throughout the day. I get to carry His Presence in my home with my family as we learn, in my neighborhood as we exercise, or at the store as we shop.
There is nothing glamorous about the mundane, but I am living more fully aware of the gift of being alive during this time in history. I feel like the Lord is taking us deeper into His heart and purifying our love and devotion for Him so we can rise as His beautiful body here on earth.
The following song, “Lord of the Harvest,” has been on repeat since it was released a few weeks ago. Please take time to listen and engage with this 7-minute video (when you have time) and consider the words and the implication of your fresh ‘yes’ to Jesus, who remains confidently on His throne.
