Goal #3: Living with Purpose & Passion

I have been most excited to share this goal because I believe it is at the heart of this community and truly sets it apart.

Secret Spring comes directly from Song of Songs 4:12. It is about the journey of the Shulamite growing in her relationship with Jesus and discovering His passionate love for her that matures her and enables her to live with tender first-love devotion to Him.

You and I are the Shulamite, and the Song of Songs is singing over us as the invitation to embark on the same sacred journey of maturity and passionate love for Jesus.

As the world grows darker and darker with evil and perversion, the Body of Christ will burn brighter and brighter with the Glory of Jesus. We burn brightest as we abide in Him, and He dwells as fully as possible in us. This happens through intimate fellowship with Holy Spirit and feasting on the Word of God daily so we can KNOW in the most profound way possible that He is good and in control despite the craziness in the world.

God has a plan, and I want to play my part and join with others who are passionate about playing their part.

We must keep an eternal perspective of God’s redemptive plan for creation that groans for the mature children of God to arise and be led by Holy Spirit in power (Romans 8:14). Living by the Spirit will become essential in the days ahead when deception will be rampant.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,” I Timothy 4:1 NKJV

“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” Colossians 2:8 NKJV

We need not fear the future because we can trust Holy Spirit to guard us from lies and deception and to lead us into all truth if we walk in the Spirit (John 16:13).

“But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14 NKJV

We must drink deeply of the Spirit to stay spiritually hydrated no matter the challenges.

“Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” Isaiah 58:11 NKJV

The years of the pandemic revealed some areas of strength and weakness in my spiritual life. I have intentionally worked to build upon my strengths and develop my weaknesses, and I encourage you to do the same.

Together, with great expectation, we can look toward the future and know the grace of God is more than able to empower us to walk in victory for whatever comes our way! He knows the way forward and is eager to reveal it as necessary as we spend time with Him. Time spent with Jesus in prayer and in meditating on the Word of God is a wise, eternal investment!

Lord, Jesus, help us drink deeply from You so we may live in Your refreshment and overflow to bring refreshment to others and provoke them to drink from You themselves. Help us to be like the Shulamite and discover Your love like never before so that together, we may lead others into Your fullness. Amen.
