Resuming With Refined Focus

I have felt the nudge to resume writing, but only recently gained some needed revelation and insight about its focus. I encourage you to read my revised Welcome to learn more.

I’ve had particular messages burning in my heart as I have walked through my share of tests and trials, as I’m sure you have. I knew what they were, but I wasn’t sure if and how they all tied together.

I’m sure I will continue receiving insight, but for now, I am being obedient and acting on what I know so far. The focus of A Secret Spring is cultivating the deepest parts of us, our inner man and our desire to live fully integrated: body, soul, and spirit in Christ.

I hope you will join me on this journey because I love to share what Holy Spirit is teaching me, and I don’t have enough time or resources to meet one-on-one with everyone to share. 😊

This morning, Proverbs 17:3 jumped off the page at me. “In the same way that gold and silver are refined by fire, the Lord purifies your heart by the tests and trials of life.”

Then also verse 8, “Wise instruction is like a costly gem. It turns the impossible into success.”

We don’t like to think or talk about refinement or how much the life of faith in Jesus costs. Sure, our salvation in Jesus is free, but following him and being purified and conformed to his image is costly.

Yet, my heart cries out to my beautiful Lord Jesus, “Refine and purify my heart. You are worth more than gold or silver, and I want to be one with You.”

  1. Beautifully said Alison! Yes maturing and growing in our Lord can be painful because He is removing so much of us-the selfishness, pride, hurt, anger, etc. All this needs to go so Jesus can live, work and refine us to be more like Him. It truly is so worth it!
